You don't need a big budget to create a warm, gathered-in living room. Here are the pieces and thrifted finds that made ours feel like home.

There's something so special about slowly turning a house into a home. It doesn't happen all at once, and it certainly doesn't happen because you spent a fortune. It happens in the little choices — the pieces you gather, the corners you make cozy, the meals you share.

When we first started out, we felt the pressure to have everything "done" and perfect right away. But the more we leaned into doing things intentionally and on a budget, the more our home actually started to feel like ours. Warm. Lived-in. Loved.

Below, we're sharing a few of the exact things we used and genuinely love. We only ever recommend pieces we'd buy again ourselves — and if you shop through our links, it helps support this little blog at no extra cost to you.

I adore our gingham duvet cover. It is so easy to remove, wash, and put back on.

How cute?!! I love our personalized cutting board. I mainly use it for decoration and it adds just the perfect newlywed touch.

WE LOVE!! Our throw blanket has been used on our couch, traveling, and even used as a comforter on our king guest bed... #BUDGETING
